When Marino Selak first arrived in New Zealand from his native Croatia in 1906, there were a few things missing. Apart from olive oils and traditional Croatian food, it seemed wine was in seriously short supply too. So Marino decided to make his own and in the process created a New Zealand favourite. Ever since those first vines were planted, one thing has always remained the same – Marino's most treasured grapes were blended into a wine kept especially for his family and friends. Now, 80 years on, Selaks continues to honour this tradition of producing the very best by crafting this unique wine we call ‘Founders’.

A wine for lovers of compelling and complex Chardonnay. Aromatically savoury, smoky and nutty. The palate is long, weighty and textured, lifted by citrus fruit characters and culminating in a toasty finish. A winning combination with steak béarnaise or pumpkin ravioli.
This age-worthy Pinot Noir is dark, rich and has superb tannin structure which will soften over time. Savour the aroma of berry fruit and subtle nuances of spice and oak on the palate. Worthy of your best duck, venison or lamb dish.
